The scope for the first beta.
We are starting with the companies we hear from most: small and mid-sized Sri Lankan companies whose owners want to see how the tax was worked out, not just the total.
Resident companies
Private and public limited companies incorporated in Sri Lanka under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007.
Up to Rs 500M turnover
The first beta covers small and mid-sized companies. Larger groups come in a later release.
30% standard rate
Plus the concessionary rates where your sector qualifies. We show which rate applied to which income, and why.
Quarterly self-assessment
Instalment estimates each quarter, revised from your actual numbers as the year goes on.
PAYE & WHT module
Monthly APIT on salaries, WHT on service fees (5%) and rent (10%), ready to remit by the 15th.
Capital allowances
Depreciation allowances on your vehicles, machinery, computers and buildings, pro-rated in the year you buy.
A year of CIT, planned.
A company settles its tax in four instalments through the year, then squares up in the annual return. Here is how the Y/A 2025/2026 year runs. Click a step to see what TaxWise does there.
First instalment, 15 Aug 2025. We start from last year's tax or your own estimate, whichever is more realistic, and show the working.
Instalments fall on the 15th of the second month after each quarter ends. PAYE (APIT) and WHT you deduct from others go to the IRD by the 15th of the following month.
Straight answers, current for 2025/2026.
The standard rate is 30%. Some sectors and activities qualify for concessionary rates. TaxWise reads the Y/A 2025/2026 rates from a versioned tax-law table, never hardcoded, and shows which rate applied to each slice of income and why.
Yes. Companies pay income tax in four self-assessment instalments through the year (15 August, 15 November, 15 February and 15 May for Y/A 2025/2026), then file the annual return by 30 November. TaxWise estimates each instalment from your reconciled accounts so the payments track your real position.
Expenses incurred in producing the income, plus capital allowances on qualifying assets such as plant, machinery and buildings. TaxWise reconciles your accounts, applies the allowances and shows the taxable-profit build-up line by line.
Usually, yes. If you pay salaries you deduct APIT, and some payments you make (service fees, rent) need withholding tax. These are separate from CIT and are due to the IRD by the 15th of the following month. TaxWise keeps CIT, APIT and WHT on one platform so they reconcile against each other.
Not generally yet. CIT is in private beta with a small number of companies, and we have not set a public launch date. Join the waitlist below and we will tell you when your cohort opens. When it does, TaxWise prepares the numbers and schedules; you review and submit on the IRD e-Filing portal.
